Our yard is at 220 South Larch Street in the City of Lansing, minutes from I-496, US-127, I-96 and I-69. From there we deliver across the city, from downtown, the Stadium District and Old Town to REO Town, the Eastside, Westside and Southside, and to the towns and townships around it in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. City — Ingham & Clinton counties · about 4 miles from our Lansing yard. Not on private property. For the street, East Lansing requires a permit from the building official or city engineer, with a possible deposit and insurance. Fees are set by council resolution — we will check the current figure for you.
City — Eaton County seat · about 18 miles from our Lansing yard. Not on private property. On the street, Charlotte allows up to 90 days under a DPW permit, with five feet of sidewalk kept clear and the container barricaded. The fee is set by council resolution and we will check it for you.
City — Ingham County seat · about 12 miles from our Lansing yard. Not on private property. For the street, Mason requires a right-of-way permit for each project, with a $200 penalty for skipping it. Whether a dumpster counts is not published, so we check with the city first.
Unincorporated — Delhi Charter Township · about 7 miles from our Lansing yard. Not on private property. Delhi Township has no published dumpster rule, only a general obstruction clause, so we confirm street placement with the township before delivery.

Dumpster permits in the City of Lansing
On a private driveway or lot, no permit. In the street, no permit either, because the City does not issue one: City Code § 1022.01 says a right-of-way permit shall not be issued for dumpster placement or other materials that may be an obstacle or hazard to the public. So every container we deliver in Lansing sits on private property, and if your driveway is short we size a smaller box or set up swaps. Outside the city the rules change at every boundary, which is why each town page above states its own. In short: East Lansing permits a street container through the building official or city engineer, Charlotte allows up to 90 days under a DPW permit, Mason requires a right-of-way permit per project without saying whether a dumpster counts, DeWitt, Grand Ledge and Delta Township have right-of-way permits that never mention containers, and Delhi and Meridian townships (Holt, Okemos, Haslett) publish nothing at all. Where a place publishes nothing, we say so and keep the container on private property.
