In Lansing the container goes on your driveway or lot, full stop. City Code § 1022.01 says a right-of-way permit shall not be issued for dumpster placement, so there is no street permit to apply for and no legal way to park a roll-off on a City street. On private property the City has no permit for a temporary container. If your driveway is too short or too steep, tell us and we will look at the lawn, the alley side or a smaller box.

The towns around Lansing are different: East Lansing and Charlotte publish a street permit, Mason, DeWitt, Grand Ledge and Delta Township have right-of-way permits that never mention containers, and Delhi and Meridian townships publish nothing, so we confirm before any street placement.
